Developing Freshman Player

Hi, I gave a question. Which circumstance do you think is better for a developing freshman player, as far as getting notice by a college recruiter..

A. Go to a public high school that is known for winning or gettin near championships, yet will be sitting on the bench most of the time.

B. A private Catholic high school that is decent and sometimes makes championship, yet the athlete is far more likely to get a lot of court time?

I would say #2 only because they player should get more time on the court and develop more. But then again, if public school is really good at developing players in practice, that might be a better option. Where will they develop more?

It's impossible to give a really good answer because there are many variables. The most important thing is to continue developing as a player... skills, mentality, grades, athleticism, etc.

The other factors have little to do with the school... does the players have a plan? Know what size colleges to target? Have a plan to get in front of those college coaches at the right time?

The high school often times has little to do with whether a player gets noticed by a college recruiter. School ball is just one of many pieces to the recruiting puzzle.
