Matchup Zone Questions

Why is the upside and downside on the side of the court they are on? Is it to give better coverage against right-handed wing and baseline drives?

It is, effectively, the way I learned it. With the personnel we had, it was better. Not because it made us better defensively, but it made us better offensively. It was easier for players to fill their lanes.
I don't believe there is anything magical about the sides. Do what is best for your personnel.

Thanks for the reply Don. I would be interested to hear which lanes your players filled from the matchup zone.

I would be happy to discuss all of the ins and outs and adjustments made over the years, if you like. It would be easier if you email me at Don@Kelbick.com and we can get into some depth.
