Ball Level or Deny Reversal

I'm playing half court man. We are a pressure up the line force baseline team. My question is do you deny all ball reversals no matter how far out the offensive player at the top is if the ball is on the wing, or do you have everyone get to ball level?
It really depends on your philosophy. I've seen coaches teach both ways. Personally I do not want to give up lay ups so we don't go too high and definitely not to half court when the ball is for example at the wing. If they ball is very far from the basket it might be ok to deny up to half court. Just depends on position of the ball and defensive philosophy. Our philosophy is to always put intense pressure on the ball and never give up lay ups.
