Coach Joel Hueser

Coach Joel Hueser earned his degree from the University of Nebraska-Kearney, where he was a member of the Loper Basketball team from 1984 to 1988. He began his coaching career in Kansas as the boys' head varsity and junior high coach at Mankato High School

After one year, he returned to Nebraska and took over as the boys' head varsity coach at McCook High School, leading the program for 13 years. Under his leadership, McCook qualified for the state tournament five times, finishing as the runner-up in 2000

In 2003, Coach Hueser was hired as the boys' head varsity coach at Papillion-LaVista South High School, where he continues to lead the program. His teams have now qualified for the state tournament five times, winning the Class A State Championship in 2025. In addition to coaching basketball, he teaches in the Physical Education department

Coach Cameron Hunter

Cameron Hunter was a three year starter and two year captain at Olathe East HS. He helped lead the Hawks to a three state appearances including placing 4th his junior year and 3rd his senior year. He received honorable mention and beat the single season assist record his senior year

At North Dakota State, he helped his team make two NCAA appearances and win two league titles. He was named Newcomer of the Year his sophomore year. He then played at University of Central Missouri, helping the program get back to the conference tournament both years. He graduated with a Communications Degree and a Psychology and Sociology minor

Cameron has been with Breakthrough Basketball as assistant coach for over four years and has helped hundreds of kids before earning the title of Lead Clinician. He has been taught and mentored by some of the original Breakthrough Basketball coaches

Coach Jazmyne Laskey

Coach �Jaz� Jazmyne Laskey was born and raised in Oklahoma, graduating from Edmond Memorial HS in 2016. Then moving on to Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas to play 4 years

Coach Laskey is currently the Assistant Coach at Midland University

in Fremont, Nebraska. Laskey's coaching career includes stops at Iowa Wesleyan University (20-21) and Friends University (22-24), where she served as an assistant. At Iowa Wesleyan, she also stepped in as the interim head coach midseason. A former standout player at Southwestern College, Laskey earned her degree in Business Administration in 2020 and a master's degree in Leadership and Athletic Administration from Iowa Wesleyan (2022)

In addition to coaching collegiate athletes, Coach Laskey has coached at the grassroots level with the Oklahoma City Thunder Youth Basketball program in Oklahoma City, as well as the College Coaches Skills Camp in Wichita, Kansas

Shooting Off of the Dribble Like Russell Westbrook & Kyrie Irving

As the levels go up, it's very important to add a pull up jump shot off of the dribble. This gives you the ability to score as defenders rush out to defend the initial shot. You will learn:

The often ignored, but important progressions for the shot off of the dribble learned from legendary Hal Wissel who coached in the NBA

Learn how to properly pick up the basketball and how doing it the wrong way could be causing your shot to miss to the left and the right

These basketball camps are for boys and girls in grades 3rd to 8th.

You will learn the techniques and skill needed to become a great shooter.

You will learn the essential skills to becoming a great ball handler� no fluff.

You will learn how to make more lay ups.

You will learn how to become a defensive stopper and rebounding machine.

You will learn the critical components of basketball IQ required to become a great offensive player from an individual and team aspect.

Ball Handling

Stationary ball handling routine that improve rhythm, feel, and coordination with the basketball.

Observing Coaches

Coaches can attend for free by working the basketball camp. Email us with your coaching/playing experience if you're interested in helping with the basketball camp.

Otherwise there is a $97 fee to attend as an "observing coach". You will get to learn new drills and techniques from Jazmyne Laskey , just like all the players and other coaches in attendance. Visit this link to reserve your spot as an observing coach.
