As a coach I''m looking for a good system to present to the players a report that contains infornation for them on how they are doing and where they need to improve right now.
Does anybody use anything like that? Can anybody help me out?
Thanks, Coach Bart

Hi Coach Bart,
I've seen coaches that use different +/- systems based on what they are trying to emphasize.
For example,
Made 2-pt. Field Goal +2
Missed 2-pt. Field Goal -2
Made 3-pt. Field Goal +3
Missed 3-pt. Field Goal -2
Made Free Throw +1
Missed Free Throw -1
Charges Taken +3
D. Rebound +2
O. Rebound +2
Turnovers -3
Assists +3
Hockey Assists +3
Steals +2
Blocks (and lost possession) +1
Block (and gained possesion) +3
Foul -2
After the stats are tallied, you post their score. Your goal is to have as high of a score as you can. The only problem is that it takes years of data to figure out what good scores should be.
This winter (hopefully December), we are actually coming out with a NEW DVD with Danny Miles (who has the 6th most wins in College History) that shows his Value Point System which is a tool for measuring performance individually and as a team. Every season his team has 9 inter-squad scrimmages and he tracks their stats. He has perfected the system so well that based on his evaluation score from scrimmages, he can predict within 1 or 2 games how many wins he will get that season.
Hope that helps!
Joe
