Strenghtening and Conditioning

Hi,

I coach a 5th grade girls team. I am looking for strengthening, stretching, and conditioning ideas I can put into practices. I understand that female athletes may have different needs in these areas. For example they are much more likely to suffer ACL injuries.

Any suggestions.

I would suggest having your players do different style of push ups. Such as a triangle stance, wide, regular, and etc...Do 3 sets of 10 or more if possible. Players at that age need to do resistance type exercises.
I would also suggest agility/plyo exercies. Jump rope, quick moves which work on footwork.
