Is college water polo hard, how about the Texas divisions

Im 6'3 190 lbs with a 6'8 wingspan and just wanted to see if water polo is a hard sport to play i college without experience. I was on basketball varsity for two years and track also but I only know swimming basics from summer pool parties. I also played quaterback in middle school through my sophmore year of high school. Would playing at a school like Texas Tech or Texas State be difficult for me?
