Lead Instructor - Nicole Douglas

Coach Nicole Douglas brings a powerful blend of leadership, discipline, and purpose to the court, shaped by 25 years of service as a United States Army Officer. A Bronze Star recipient for her service in Iraq and Afghanistan, she carries a mission-first mindset that translates directly into how she develops athletes—focused, accountable, and driven to improve.

A graduate of the Command and General Staff College, Coach Douglas has spent the past five years coaching middle school teams with Destined for Greatness (AAU) in Waco and recently served as the Assistant Varsity Girls Coach at Vanguard College Preparatory School. She also leads 9th and 10th grade teams within the program, helping players bridge the gap to the next level.

Her coaching philosophy centers on strong fundamentals paired with mental toughness. Through her training, athletes not only build their skills but also develop resilience, confidence, and the ability to compete under pressure.

In addition to coaching, Coach Douglas serves as a Sports Writer and Scout for Prep Girls Hoops, giving her valuable insight into what college programs are looking for. She uses that perspective to help players better understand the path to playing at the next level.

Coach Douglas believes basketball is a vehicle for teaching life skills like discipline, grit, and teamwork. She is passionate about helping athletes grow not just as players, but as confident leaders prepared for success beyond the game.
