Chris VanderHyde Camps
Lead Instructor - Christopher VanderHyde

Chris VanderHyde is currently in his eighth year as an assistant coach at Gustavus Adolphus College.
VanderHyde is a 2002 graduate of Hope College in Holland, Michigan. Since graduating from Hope, VanderHyde has spent the last 23 years coaching basketball at both the high school and college level. Prior to his time at Gustavus, Chris was the Head Coach of the girls basketball team at Park Center High School in Brooklyn Park, MN. While there, the Pirates appeared in four state tournaments with two state championships. Chris coached a dozen players at Park Center that would go on to play college basketball. VanderHyde also spent five seasons as the assistant coach at Bethel University where the Royals appeared in four MIAC playoffs in that period.
Additionally, Chris has a plethora of experience working camps. Gustavus has one of the largest overnight camps in the midwest which VanderHyde has been working for 12 years. He has also worked at Five-Star Basketball camp amongst many others. Throughout his career coaching and working basketball camps, VanderHyde has helped develop players who have played at all levels of college including some who have gone on to play professionally. With 20 years of classroom teaching experience as well, Chris prides himself on being a teacher of the game while connecting the lessons learned on the court to life lessons that extend beyond it.
