7 Gift Ideas for Basketball Coaches
For those of you looking to buy a present for a coach that you know, here are several ideas for you...
As a coach myself, I can tell you exactly what we like. :)
1 - Gift Certificate to Redeem Coaching DVDs, eBooks, or Training Aids
Coaches are unique animals. They can be pretty picky about what they run offensively, defensively, and so on.
And unless they give you a real specific hint, you never know what they will want when it comes to DVDs or anything regarding coaching strategies.
So one of the best things you can do is buy a gift certificate to BreakthroughBasketball.com and let them choose...
Coaches love DVDs and any tools that will give them an edge. Which is why this is a great unique gift idea that any coach will appreciate!
Coaches can use the gift certificate to order Breakthrough Basketball training aids.

2 - Huge Heavy Duty Ball Bag

This is for the club coach or youth coach that has to supply their own equipment and carry it to the gym.
Most youth coaches get tired of the cheap ball bags that tear and have trouble holding all their equipment.
This heavy duty bag is awesome because it holds a ton of equipment, stands upright for easy loading, and lasts a long time.
This bag will comfortably hold 17 youth basketballs, 14 women's basketballs, or 13 men's basketballs.
I personally use this bag and I love it. I will never go back to the cheap mesh bags again!

3 - Mini Ball Pump
This is a great pump you can keep in any bag... even a very small bag.
It’s very small so you can easily throw it in your backpack, cone bag, etc. I personally carry this around in my backpack along with a few extra needles for the pump.
4 - Sweep Stick

This is a new and handy training tool that teaches players to be strong with the ball and “sweep it”.
This is somewhat of a preference thing. Some coaches love this tool and use it daily -- and other coaches may not use it.
So I would suggest checking with your coaching friend or significant other to see if this is something they’d be interested in. If so, this could be a great gift.
5 - Heavy Training Ball

Quite a few coaches use heavy training basketballs to develop strength. They are handy tools that most coaches like to have available.
But again, you may want to check with your coaching friend or significant other to see if this is something of interest. The heavy training balls are pretty popular but not all coaches use them.
Visit the product info page for ideas on drills that can be used with the heavy training ball.
6 - Shot Spotz

This is a great gift idea that almost any coach can use.
The Shot Spotz are somewhat of a new tool so you don’t see many coaches using them yet. But they are great to have. They are lightweight, easy to carry around, and I think every coach in the world could find a use for them in their drills.
I personally use the Shot Spotz and I love them. View the info page to learn about various uses and drills for the Shot Spotz.
7 - Speed Ladder

This is another great tool for coaches to use with basketball drills or agility drills. Again, I personally use the ladders as a tool in our practices and camps.
Read the description page for lots of great drills and ideas for using the speed ladder during practice.
Final Thoughts - What to Choose?
Ok, I get this question a lot… so I know what you might be thinking…
"Those are great ideas, but which one should I choose?"
If you notice the coach lugging around basketballs in those cheap mesh bags, get him/her a heavy duty ball bag. He or she will love that.
If you have no idea what to do, get a Breakthrough Basketball Gift Certificate and/or the Shot Spotz. You can’t go wrong with either or those gifts.
Have a Merry Christmas!
