How To Instantly Become Quicker Without Running or Lifting Weights

What if I told you that you wouldn't have to spend one second running or lifting weights in order to be quicker. Would you be interested?

I know that I sure would!

Well, the concept is quite simple, but it does take some work.

Improve your shooting.

You might be thinking... Huh? What is this guy on? How does that make me quicker?

Well, hang with me for a second as I explain...

Think about it. If you improve your shooting accuracy and become a threat, what does that mean the defense has to do whenever you catch the ball?

Well, the defense better be running at you to take away your shot. Otherwise, they're sitting on the bench for letting a shooter take a wide open shot.

Now, it obviously becomes easier to drive by the defender who is running at you compared to somebody who is already sitting in a balanced athletic stance ready to move because they don't have to defend your shot.

Taking Your Game To The Next Level Like Stephen Curry

Now, let's say that you are already an accurate shooter or you become an accurate shooter, you can still take it to the next level by developing the quickness of your shot.

So now you are somebody who shoots a high percentage and shoots extremely quickly... think Stephen Curry.

This makes you nearly impossible to guard. If they sprint to take your shot away, they are in a terrible defensive position to take away the drive.

Now you can..

  1. Take the lay up.
  2. Hit the pull up jumper.
  3. Or if the defense completely collapses on you, hit the wide open teammate.

(This should also give you a hint on what you should focus on during your workouts. Focus on the primary few versus the trivial many.)

If the defense decides that they need to stay within an arm's reach of you even when you don't have the ball to ensure you don't get any open looks, your coach loves you because the defender can't offer any weakside help and this tremendously helps your team get easy scoring opportunities.

So you can help your team win without even touching the ball.

Without becoming stronger, faster, or anything, you can become quicker just by working on your shot.

And if you work on your shot, your other bball skills, and your athleticism, you can make great strides in your game.

Great Thinking! Just wanted to mention that Good Habits still need to be instilled. Fundamentally shooting the ball sometimes changes in young athletes when they try to shoot the ball quickly. I always remember BEEF Balance, Eyes, Elbow, and Follow Through. Most basketball players when shooting the ball quickly tend to forget one or more of those fundamentals. Practice makes Perfect. Practice makes you quicker!
