Plyometric Boxes?

These things are soooo expensive. Does anyone know any cheap plyo boxes, something that can be used instead of a plyo box, or how to make a plyo box?
I really need this to improve my explosive power. help is appreciated

I am no carpenter but having seen these plyo boxes in a bunch of gyms, they don't look too hard to manufacture. Maybe find a local source (hardware store) and ask for leads. If you get lucky and find a basketball fan who is also good with his hands, you might get a discount or for free.


Also sometimes these schools upgarde their equipment and the old stuff (which almost always is still in fine shape) can be bought or given away.

If you don't have the resources to buy the plyo boxes, you could use a set of stairs near by. It isn't quite the same but you can have players jump two or three steps at a time and get the same explosiveness and conditioning for the players.
