My dad was around the same size... my G'pa and G'ma were shorter but I had a few Uncles that were taller.... on both sides.

I ended up taller than my dad and about the same height as my brother.. 6' so you could very easily grow to at least the same height as your dad or taller.

2 steals a game is good... just keep working hard... when you guard someone... You can make that their worst nightmare.

Ben,

Did you see the one clip on You Tube regarding when Ricky started playing the game and how hard he worked at his skills?

There are NO guarantees but IF You keep working as hard as I think you are.... you will be an excellent player. You are on the 8th grade team as a 7th grader... your next goal is to make the Freshman team - after that - the Varsity.... keep your goals in mind and you will be successful... write your goals down.. otherwise, they are just a wish list.

the one ofthe story of ricky rubio.

Also regaarding the goals me and my dad were watching a college basketball game on tv and He asked me if I want to play college basketball(My parents really don't think I'm going to do anything in sports. They want me to be "realistic" or they want to motivate me.)
I told him that I want to play in highschool varsity and then play college basketball whether its D1, D2, or D3. Then go to Europe or play in the NBDL

Ben,
I like your goals.... there is nothing wrong with shooting high... that will only make you work harder. Your first goal should be to make the Freshman team... then the VARSITY.

No one knows when you will hit that growth spurt... height has a lot to do with the level you can play at... but... IF you are quick... then size isn't always a detriment. Right now there isn't anything that you can do about your height.... what YOU CAN control is YOUR game and how good you get at it. While you are busting your butt working on your skills, remember to have fun.

I'm not sure what your parents are thinking.. maybe right now they don't want to see you get hurt? What parent wouldn't feel that way? I bet they would love to see you play college ball..(so would I ) ....and realize that dream! There are only so many Michael Jordon's, Kobes etc.... but - IF you keep working on your game WHILE you stay on top of your academics... anything can happen.

I think you have picked out a few excellent role models... I don't think I could do what Ricky Rubio does without a ball. :-) (when I was younger of course)
I wish you luck Ben!!
