We're playing sideways in an old high school (two games at once) so we're trying to be creative and find a way to use the main clock as a timer for both games. Do you guys have any suggestions or see any major issues with this? I was thinking we'd play 4 x 10min running clock quarters.

Also how do you handle fouls in this age group? i think there needs to be some penalty for fouling but lining everybody up for free throws eats up a lot of court time. Appreciate everyone's feedback

Logistically it might be challenging to get both courts going at exact same time but can probably be done. Refs need to be ready, players, etc. It will get messed up if there are injuries, etc. But not much you can do. I have seen this done for indoor soccer... where they whole facility is on the same click for 3v3 games. But have not tried for bball.

For fouls, I have seen it where you always shoot 1 FT which is worth 2 points. That works fine and speeds things up if time is a concern. Either way works and there are pros and cons. Also kids can foul out, etc.

Boy, that would be rough trying to coordinate two games on one clock. I know there are portable game clocks for a reasonable price. You might look into getting at least one of those. One team uses main, other team uses portable. Maybe a local high school would sell you one or let you borrow it if you can't get funds to buy one.

Agree with Jeff on the FT's, make 'em worth 2 pts each if you want to save time.
