We are running a tournament. What is a good distance to shoot free throws for 5th grade girls (10 &11 y/o)?

The things that I have read about tourneys like this is that they shoot from the regulation distance.... 15 feet.

Good luck

With girls that young, I would prefer to move them up a little. Our courts have a volleyball line about 1.5 to 2 feed closer. Seems like it would work well. Good luck.

At that age they should be fine shooting at regulation though the % will be very low. They should be using a girl's ball, 28.5".

Refs at that age will usually allow the shooter to step/jump on the line or a few inches past because most girls need to jump to reach that height and distance. I would communicate this to your refs at your tournament and to the other coaches that it would be OK if the girls go a little past the line.
