Basketball Shooting Drill Video - Wing Screen

This is 1 of the 12 shooting drills that we gave to anybody who purchased our Breakthrough Basketball Shooting Guide as an unadvertised bonus.

Don Kelbick was kind enough to supply us with these videos.

This is a great drill to work on shooting off of ball screens or a change of direction dribble.

Instructions:
  1. The player dribbles the ball towards the wing.

  2. He utilizes the chair as if it was a screen and takes 1 explosive dribble towards the hoop and pulls up for a jump shot.

  3. The player gets his own rebound and dribbles back to half court to start again.

If the player misses, he gets the rebound and makes a lay up before returning back to half court to start the drill again.

You could also execute a dribble move when running back to half court to start the drill again.
You can execute the moves as shown in video or back down your defender before utilizing the screen and exploding off of the dribble.

You can adjust the distance from the goal. For youth players, you may want to move the chairs closer to the hoop, while advanced players can move it further out.
