Lead Instructor - Mike Sybrant

Mike Sybrant enters his second year as head coach at Peru State for the 2025–26 season. In his first year leading the Bobcats, he guided multiple individual achievements, including Kylie Diaz earning All Conference honors and Hailey Ingram joining the 1,000 point club. Prior to becoming head coach, Sybrant served as an assistant at Peru State during the 2023–24 season, helping lead the program to the Heart of America Conference Tournament for the first time in eleven years.
Before Peru State, Sybrant spent four seasons at Division II South Dakota School of Mines, where he helped lead the Hardrockers to two postseason appearances and saw eight players earn Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference honors. Three players reached the 1,000 point milestone, and Ryan Weiss was named RMAC Academic Player of the Year.
Sybrant also coached at Northeastern Junior College, helping improve the program from 14 to 22 wins while building a strong academic culture that earned national WBCA recognition for team GPA. He previously coached at Upper Iowa University, where the program was recognized by the WBCA as the top Division II team nationally for academic performance.
Coach Sybrant holds both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where he also served as a graduate assistant during a 30 win season that ended with an NCAA Division II Elite Eight appearance.
