Lead Instructor - Joe Adams 
Coach Joe Adams is the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Earlham College and brings a strong background in player development, leadership, and education to the court. Since taking over the Quakers program, Adams has helped guide steady improvement within the program while mentoring multiple all-conference and academic award recipients.
During the 2025-26 season, Adams led the Quakers to an opening season victory over Wilmington College while coaching both Amari Wright and Berkley Shelton to HCAC Honorable Mention recognition. Gabrielle Watkins also earned CSC Academic All-District honors under his leadership.
In his first three seasons at Earlham, Adams helped the program continue to improve each year, highlighted by multiple HCAC award winners including Jay Bright and Abby Parsons. His teams have been recognized for their competitiveness, development, and commitment both on and off the court.
Before returning to Earlham, Adams served as the head girls basketball coach at Anderson High School in Indiana, where he coached multiple all-conference players while also teaching U.S. History and credit recovery courses. Prior to Anderson, he spent three years with the Franklin County School District as a special education teacher and girls basketball coach.
A former Earlham basketball player and graduate, Adams earned his Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Hispanic Studies from Earlham in 2014 and completed his Master of Arts in Teaching in 2015. He later returned to his alma mater as an assistant men’s basketball coach and head JV coach before eventually taking over the women’s basketball program.
Coach Adams is passionate about developing fundamentally sound players, building confidence, and helping athletes grow both on and off the court.
