If you’re looking for a gift to give to a basketball player, here are several ideas for you...

1 - Gift Certificate to Breakthrough Basketball

If you’re not sure what to get or have a picky kid…. get him or her a gift certificate and let them choose.

They can choose any basketball, skill development camp.

2 – Basketball Return Device (for Shooting)

This is a great gift for the backyard hoop at home. Players attach this to their backboard and the ball comes right back to them – allowing them to take more shots in less time.

We like this better than the “rim attachments” because this device will return the ball whether you make it or miss it.

We recommend return devices for any player that wants to improve their shooting. The more shots you can take, the better you will get. So it only makes sense to optimize your time and practice as efficient as possible.

3 - Dribble Goggles

These would be great for a stocking stuffer! Players wear the goggles while they practice dribbling.

The goggles help players learn to dribble without looking at the ball... an important skill for any player.

4 - Colored Basketball for Kids

These are really popular items that kids really seem to like. You can choose red/black, royal blue/back, or pink/black.

Of course the girls love the pink basketballs. When my 9 year old saw the pink ball she had to have it!!

5 - Top of the Line Game Ball

An older player might like a “top of the line” composite indoor ball.

There are lots of good basketballs out there. The two we chose are the Baden Perfection Elite and Spalding TF 1000 Legacy. These are approved by the NFHS and are popular choices among high school teams.

They are both awesome basketballs. These are meant for indoor use only.

The Wilson Evolution and the Rawlings Contour are also used by high schools in some states. However we do not stock those two items.

6 - Skill Development DVDs for High School or College Players

This is for a motivated player that is willing to study the game to improve. The Attack & Counter DVDs were developed by NBA Skills Coach Don Kelbick.

The DVDs teach players how to improve footwork, aggressiveness, perimeter moves, post moves, dribble moves, and more.

 

7 - Glow in the Dark Ball for Kids

This can be for kids or even older players that play outdoors in the dark. It is a great gift idea and is also a perfectly functional ball during the day or night. The glow in the dark technology works surprisingly well!

This is a popular gift for kids.

8 - GRIP Tread Outdoor Basketball

This is for the player that spends a lot of time playing outside. Regular basketballs tend to wear out fast when you use them on concrete or asphalt.
