High Level Scoring Move - The Same Foot Step Back

Master this move and you can shake off defenders and quickly rise up to hit an uncontested jump shot.

This move is a great way to clear space!

While you see a lot of college and pro players using this move outside the 3-point line, it can be just as effective (or more) in the lane, at the elbows or on any type of dribble penetration.

And once you've mastered your shooting mechanics, this is a great move to add to your repertoire because it's also fairly easy to learn.

Here is a video clip from the Breakthrough Shooting & Scoring System where Jim Huber takes you through the move step by step.

MIKE. You are allowed 2 counts after your pick up ( 2 foot hop counts as one) BUT you do not have a pivot foot so you can't pivot. I would be more concerned about dragging the back foot before the hop back.

Sorry that looks like a travel. You step with front foot, then basically lift both feet in air for a hop.

Exactly why you have to two foot hop or jump stop after the step.
