Sideline Inbounds Play - Razor

The following sideline inbounds play is a simple, yet effective play that is dictated on spacing and creates scoring options all over the court. This play is easy to teach and implement at any age group.

Step 1:

The play begins with 3 taking the ball out of bounds. 5 starts outside the three point line on the side of the ball. 4 starts at the top of the key. 1 starts on the ball side low block and 2 begins on the opposite low block.

Step 2:

5 and 1 set the play in motion by setting staggered screens for 2 who cuts left to right, toward the ball.

As 1 is setting the first screen, 4 screens down for 1 who cuts toward the ball once 2 has used his screen.

3 has the option of hitting 2 for a three pointer in the corner or passing the ball to 1.

Step 3:

If 2 does not have a shot in the corner, the ball is passed to 1.

2 then cuts across the court, using screens from 5 and 4.

After 5 sets a pick for 2, he cuts to the free throw line, looking for a pass.

1 takes the inbound pass and dribbles to the other side of the court. He has options of passing to 2 in the corner for a three pointer or passing to 5 who is flashing to the free throw line or even back to 3 who has stepped in bounds.

This simple inbounds play can be run on either side of the court.

Great plays guys.... I ran something similar to this. A double staggered screen with a pick the picker at the end.... their defender fouled my 3 point shooter. The kid hit all 3 for the W! Like Hubie Brown says, DON'T foul the jump shooter and certainly not from past the arc.
