Pound-Move-Pushout

Purpose of the Drill:

The purpose of this drill is to work on your offensive move and pushing out the first dribble after the move.

Instructions

  • The player pounds the basketball in a stationary position 1-5 times.
  • He then executes a move (inside out, crossover, between the legs, double crossover, etc.) and pushes the ball out after the move for one hard dribble and about two steps.
  • The player then repeats the process the length of the court and back.

Points of Emphasis:

  • Pound the basketball hard.
  • Execute the move low and quick.
  • Push out low, quick, and in a balanced position.
  • Work on all moves going both right to left and left to right.
