Tight Cone Finishing Drill
Ages: All Ages Youth Middle School High School+
Purpose of the Drill:
The purpose of this drill is to work on the player's dribbling moves in tight spaces and then finish at the rim.
Instructions

- Set up a specific number of cones (I recommend at least 6) about two feet apart.
- Have the player weave through the cones working on a set move.
- Player finishes at the rim or with a pullup jumpshot then can come back through the cones out to half court.
Points of Emphasis:
- Work on the following single moves: hesitation, inside out, crossover, between legs, behind back.
- Use the same move all the way through or a different move at each cone.
- Move quickly through the cone in order to push yourself.
- Stay low and tight with the cones.
- Vary your finishing moves around the rim.
- The cones can be set up approaching from the top of the key or on the wings.
- Have the player use one dribble to get to the rim from the top of the key after the last cone.
Motivation/Teaching Tips:
- Make a certain amount in a prescribed period of time.
