How To Beat Your Defender With Any Dribble Move

In this video clip from the Attack and Counter Skill Development System, Don Kelbick talks about a critical tip for your dribble moves that will help you beat your defender.

As Don mentions, you beat your defender with your feet and you create separation with the dribble.

You want to move in straight lines when making your dribble move.

Your goal is to get your swing foot even or past your defender's foot.

At this point, you have the defender beat. The only way to catch up is to move backwards.

i would also add: use head/shoulder & ball fakes as you get into your move. get the defender to jump for these fakes makes getting the swing foot by the defender much easier . iverson was the master at the WIDE crossover to get the defender to jump "at" the ball and out of his way.
