I am just starting basketball in the 7th grade as my second year of middle school. I love playing and watching but was always to nervous to go on a team. I have the summer to get ready, thanks for the awesome website but i have a question.. I'm trying to remember the rules and play but is it better to focus on one part of the sport (like on center players since I'm tall) or to try to be Okay at everything?

12 - 13 years old.... focus on the overall game. While you might be the center of today, you could very easily be the point guard of tomorrow. The more you play the more your coaches will teach you the game and the rules.

Work on all aspects of the game.... become fundamentally sound. If you look on the left side..... PLAYERS TIPS & DEVELOPMENT ... you will find a wealth of information..... good luck, let us know how things are progressing... .and if you have any specific questions let us know.
