My friend taught me to shoot and I was really good then I took a break started not jumping when I shot. Now i cant seem to find the same rhythm when I take a jump shot and I always jump to the side is there a good way to fix this?

Start over from scratch .... like you never played. What grade are you in and how long have you played?

Start with your FORM. Stand by a wall and get that down first.....
Balance
Elbow under the ball
Eye on the target
Follow thru.

Once you can do that comfortably, go to a basket and start off close - just checking the FORM... once you are comfortable that your FORM is correct.... take a few steps back and start shooting jump shots. Make sure that you land in the same space you took off of... or slightly forward - as you get that right... you can move back a little bit. Stay in your comfort zone until you are shooting with confidence and accuracy.

Free throws are also a good way of checking your form.

Any other thoughts?

Look at this drill -

Shooting Mechanics Drill

In keeping with my theme of summer workout ideas, here is the
best drill I have found for developing and maintaining shooting
mechanics. We use it at every grade level and before every
practice, game, and off-season workout.

You're young, you have plenty of time to perfect your game.... good luck and keep up the good work.
