Lead Instructor - Jason Schmitz

Coach Jason Schmitz enters his fifth season as Head Women’s Basketball Coach at The College of St. Scholastica in 2025–26. In 2024–25, he led the Saints to a 9–9 MIAC record — the program’s first .500 conference season since joining the league in 2021.

Throughout his collegiate career, Coach Schmitz has developed multiple All-Conference players, including a MIAC Rookie of the Year. Prior to St. Scholastica, he served as head coach at Centenary College (LA), where he guided the program to its highest conference win total in nearly 40 years and coached the SCAC Newcomer of the Year.

He began his coaching career at the University of Mary (ND), helping develop five NSIC All-Conference players, a Freshman of the Year, and multiple All-American honorees.

With a background in education and player development, Coach Schmitz brings a strong teaching mindset and competitive edge to every Breakthrough Basketball camp.
