Tornado? Are you saying spinning sideways?

That sounds like you are using the thumb on your guide hand upon release.

Try shooting with one hand along a wall just to check your form. Then let us know what is happening.

Hey guys, i was wondering how come my rotation when shooting is like a tornado? I know i'm supposed to release with my first 2 fingers but i struggle, do you guys have any drills that could possibly help me?

You can also do a drill called "Lane Line Lay Ups." You dribble down the lane line and shoot a lay up high off the backboard. This will teach you to shoot it softly over the taller players. It also teaches you from getting too far under the basket.

When doing this drill, you do not want to step inside the lane. Although, we don't want to go in the lane, do not fade away.
