Summary:

Here is a simple, yet very effective play taken from Lason Perkins' Encyclopedia of the Box Offense that Dean Smith used to isolate a good post player to get an easy bucket.

Personnel:

1 - Good ball handler and passer.
2 - good post entry passer.
3 - Shooter.
4 - Good post player.
5 - Good screener

Instructions

  • 1 dribbles to the wing
  • 3 cuts to the corner
  • 5 screens for 2.
  • 2 cuts to the top.
  • 1 passes to 2.
  • On the pass 4 cuts to the lane to establish good post position.
  • 2 can dribble over to get a better passing angle to feed the post.
