Circle the Cone Drill
Ages: All Ages Youth Middle School High School+
Purpose of the Drill:
The purpose of this drill is to help players work on attacking the defender out of a specific move.
Instructions

- Player 1 begins with a basketball on the block and attacks the cone at game speed.
- He turns the corner and then attacks and finishes at the basket.
- Repeat on the opposite side.
Points of Emphasis:
- Make your move after turning the cone and explode to the basket out of the move.
- Stay low throughout the entire ball handling sequence.
- Explode up and finish high at the rim.
- Incorporate a variety of finishing moves.
- Make dribble moves into jump shots.
Motivation/Teaching Tips:
- have the players make a certain number of shots in a specific period of time.
- Have them make as many as the can in a specific period of time.
