Creating Space Drill

Purpose of the Drill:

To create space while using your back dribble and then change directions.

Instructions

  • Player 1 attacks the first cone then uses his back dribble to create space.
  • Then execute a change of direction move (right to left) and attack the next cone.
  • Continue the sequence through all 5 cones. Then come back using the same move in the opposite direction (left to right).

Points of Emphasis:

  • Incorporate different change of direction moves, crossover, between the legs, behind the back, spin dribble.
  • Push off your front leg when using your back dribble to create space.
