Ladder Shooting/Finishing
Ages: All Ages Youth Middle School High School+
Purpose of the Drill:
The purpose of the drill is to work on moving your feet quickly in tight spaces while incorporating finishes or jump shots.
Instructions

- The player will be running through the ladder then finishing off the pass from their coach.
- They should then run through the ladder on the opposite and complete the drill from that side.

- In this step the player in running a specific movement through the ladder and then stepping into a jumper after completing the ladder.

- In this step the player is moving through the ladder while handling the basketball and then finishing at the rim.
- The player can also carry the basketball while running through the ladder if it is too difficult to handle the ball while running through the ladder and then finish off one dribble.

- In this step, the player is taking a one dribble pull up jump shot after running through the ladder.
- Be sure to push the ball out on the dribble.
- If they do not make the jumper, they should follow their shot and finish.

- In this step, the player is pushing the ball out after running through the ladder then using a change of direction move on their second dribble to get to the rim and finish.
- Incorporate all change of direction moves.
Points of Emphasis:
- Move your feet quickly through the ladder.
- Use your arms while running.
- Have your hands ready to catch the basketball as you come out of the ladder.
- Finish strong at the rim using a variety of finishing moves.
- Push the ball out when finishing or shooting the ball off the dribble.
