How to Disrupt an Opposing Offense With the 1-3-1 Zone

Forty year college & high school coaching veteran Will Rey explains how to disrupt the flow of an offense in your 1-3-1 zone.

Any time an offense is able to move the ball quickly, they're making your defense work. They are also more susceptible to finding gaps or holes in your defense.

As it's demonstrated in the video above, the 1-3-1 defense is great at disrupting offensive flow because your players are easily able to jump out in the passing lanes and prevent quick ball movement. Even the slightest of hesitations from the offense help your defense shift and create less scoring opportunities for the offense.

The clip above is an excellent example of how the 1-3-1 disrupted the offense by getting in the passing lanes and making it difficult for the defense to swing the ball from side-to-side.
