Lead Instructor - Isaiah Cavaco

Coach Cavaco brings more than two decades of collegiate coaching experience to the court. He was selected as the top candidate in a nationwide search following the 2024–25 season and has built a reputation for developing players and building competitive programs.

Cavaco spent 17 seasons as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at NCAA Division III Oberlin College, where he led the Yeomen to one of the most successful stretches in program history. His teams earned seven NCAC Tournament appearances in his final nine seasons, achieved the best three-year win total in school history from 2017–2020, and recorded the program’s most conference wins during that span. Oberlin also earned its first postseason victory since 1992 during his tenure.

Following Oberlin, Cavaco served as Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Terra State Community College, where his team earned a victory over the No. 7-ranked team in the country in his debut season.

Over his career, Cavaco has coached 20 All-Conference selections and helped 10 players advance to graduate programs or professional basketball opportunities.

As a player, Cavaco competed at Yale University, where he earned the John C. Cobb Award as the team’s top freshman. Despite knee injuries, he lettered all four seasons and started 46 games for the Bulldogs.
