3 Simple Plays For A Quick 3-Point Shot
Looking for some simple plays to get a quick 3? Try one of these. These have been very effective for me throughout my career.
3-Point Play #1 - Special

In this play, 2 is your primary shooter. He does not have to be your 2 man.
1 is your best ball handler and passer.
4 is your best screener.
3 is a secondary shooter.

2 steps out to set a ball screen for 1.
1 dribbles off the ball screen.
3 cuts off a screen by 5 to the strong side corner.

Just as 1 clears the ball screen, 4 sets a flare screen for 2 (primary shooter).
2 cuts off the flare screen.

1 throws back, over the top to 2 for the shot.
3-Point Play #2 - Circle

In this play, 1 and 2 are primary shooters. 3 should be a competent shooter as well.

3 steps out past the 3 point line to receive the entry pass.
If 3 is a good shooter, this may present a shot opportunity immediately.

After the entry, 4 and 5 take about 2 steps inside the 3 point line and prepare to screen.

1 and 2 (primary shooters) dive hard toward the lane and, almost immediately after passing 4 and 5, circle out off their screens.

3 passes to an open shooter for the shot.
3-Point Play #3 - Slice

In this play, 2 is your primary shooter. 3 is a secondary shooter. They do not have to be your 2 and 3 man.
4 and 5 are solid screeners.
1 is your primary ball handler and passer.

4 steps up and ball screens for 1.
1 dribbles off the ball screen.
As 1 goes, 3 cuts off a double screen, set by 2 and 5, to the corner.
This may present a shot opportunity (1-3 pass) but not the primary option.

After screening for 3, 5 turns in and screens for 2.
After screening for 1, 4 screens down, as part of a stagger screen for 2.
2 cuts off the 5/4 stagger screen.

After setting the stagger screen, 4 and 5 screen into the lane for 3.
1 passes to 2 for the primary shot option.
3 cuts off the 4/5 double.

3 is a secondary option in the event 2 cannot shoot.
