Summary:

A sideline play to get a quick layup

Personnel:

5 players

Instructions

  • 5 sets a cross screen for 1 cutting to corner (Decoy).
  • 3 fills into the wing to keep the floor balanced and spaced out. (Long shot - 3 pointer after ball reversal).
  • 4 sets a down screen for the 5 to flash to the high post, immediately after 5 cross screens for the 1 decoy.
  • 4 then clears to the weak side corner.
  • 2 then makes the entry pass to 5 and then makes a UCLA/Laker cut on 5's right side to cut to the basket for a layup.
  • Second option:
  • UCLA cut on 5's other side for a drive.
  • EITHER WAY - a cut must be set up with a misdirection and change of direction and speed as you cut to set up 2's defender and pin him into 5.
