Summary:

A quick hitter against a full court man to man press

Personnel:

1 good athlete, 1 good passer, 2 dummies...

Instructions

  • Initial setup for full court
  • Play starts on the slap of the ball
  • A double screen is set by the first and middle guard (G, G*).
  • At the same time, F* flashes to the ball on the high wing. Pass goes to the F* who's a good, solid passer.
  • G*, right after the double screen is set will take off on a dead sprint to the basket for a layup.
  • G, who's screen was set for, will open up wide and low as a decoy for the defense to focus on and try to steal the ball or double team.
  • F* passes either a turning chest pass, straight arm pass or a turn jump and pass to G* going for the layup.
  • Option 2:
  • Instead of hitting the cutting G*, the F* will now flash higher towards the middle for the ball.
  • After the pass, F will go on a dead sprint to the basket off the right side for the layup.
  • F* will look to either side for the pass.
  • Half court setting:
  • Same setup, same play, only now the timing is even more key. Pass has to leave the F* hands almost exactly as soon as either G* or F become open for the layup.
  • *** If the low block Forward fronts our F*, we can seal and throw the pass over the top for the F* to finish the play.
