Heat 9U Out of Bounds Play
Ages: Youth
Summary:
When we are taking out the ball under the basket we are attempting to score, we will attempt to get a good shot at the basket. We will line up in a "stack" formation with each player in the stack a viable option for getting a good shot.
Personnel:
Out of bounds passer must be very aware of what a good scoring opportunity looks like and must deliver a good pass.
Instructions

- Best passer (3) takes the ball out of bounds and slaps the ball yelling "Stack" to start the play.
- 2 starts above the block so there is space to make a cut to the basket and still have a good angle to take a shot
- 5,4, and 1 in a single line behind 2, just outside the lane.

- 2 immediately seeks to cut to the basket and 3 looks for a quick hit for a layup.

- If not open, 2 makes another quick cut to the baseline.
- As 2 leaves the block, 5 fills that space with hands up looking for a pass.
- 3 should immediately see if 5 is open and deliver the ball.
- If not, 2 should sprint to about 10 feet from the basket and pivot to receive the ball and for a short jumper.

- 5 continues through the lane and attempts to post on the opposite side block.
- 4 sets a pick for 1 who cuts down to the basket, looking for a pass.

- If 1 is not open, he cuts to the baseline
- 2 fades to get open on the wing
- 4 looks to flash to the block.
- 3 then must get the ball into any open man to avoid a 5 second violation.
