Competitive Cone Touch Drill

Purpose of the Drill:

The purpose of this drill is to work on your change of direction moves in a way that forces you to stay low throughout the drill and has the added element of competition.

Instructions

  • Player 1 goes back and forth touching each cone then crossing over and repeating in the other direction.
  • Player 2 dribbles around the cone crosses over and dribbles back around the original cone.
  • Each player repeats there portion of the drill for 30 seconds, keeping track of how many cone touches they have.
  • Switch and repeat the drill at the other cone and tally up your total score.

Points of Emphasis:

  • Stay low throughout.
  • Change directions and make the move quickly.

Motivation/Teaching Tips:

  • keep track of the number of cone touches.
