Tight Cone Pushout Attack Drill
Ages: All Ages Youth Middle School High School+
Purpose of the Drill:
The purpose of this drill is to practice handling the basketbal in tight spaces like there are on the court during a game and also to learn how to make a move and push past your defender to create separation between you and them.
Instructions

- The player executes a dribble move through the cones.
- At the last cone the player should push out of their move and attack the chair (defender) where they execute the same move, push out and finish at the rim off one dribble.
- Repeat the moves out to half court then turn around and repeat the same moves coming in from the left side.
Points of Emphasis:
- Set the cones up about a foot and a half apart.
- Make their moves quickly through the cones.
- Attack the chair and the basket with one dribble, pushing the ball out low and aggressively after their move.
- Use the height of the chair as a guideline as to how low you should get going by the defender.
- Touch the cones as they make their move in order to stay low.
- Incorporate all moves based on ability (inside out, crossover, between the legs, behind the back, and any sort of combination move).
Motivation/Teaching Tips:
- Set a certain number of makes.
- Go for a set period of time.
- Make a certain amount in a period of time.
