Full Court Two Ball Attack

Purpose of the Drill:

The purpose of this drill is to develop your ability to handle the basketball with both hands while sprinting full court, changing directions and finishing.

Instructions

  • The player should sprint dribble full court using either a rhythm dribble or piston dribble and finish at the opposite end of the court. Finish on the right side with the ball in your right hand then step across and finish with your left hand.
  • Zig zag back down the other end using two ball change of direction moves (crossover, cross over & between the legs, crossover & behind the back) and finish at the opposite end the same way you finished previously.
  • Make sure to do the drill from both sides of the court in order to incorporate finishing from both sides of the rim.

Points of Emphasis:

  • Stay low
  • Dribble hard with both basketballs
  • Sprint dribble but in a controlled manner
  • Change speeds as well as change directions on the zig zags.

Motivation/Teaching Tips:

  • Make a certain number of layups in a period of time.
