Beat the Pro with Dribble Move

Purpose of the Drill:

Challenging drill that improves dribbling, shooting of the dribble, and conditioning.

Instructions

  • Player dribble at the chair (defense) makes a dribble move, takes a jump shot.
  • Player gets the rebound, makes a move on the way back, then repeats the process.
  • Use the "beat the pro" game rules -- Get 1 point for a make, minus 2 for a miss. Must get to plus 4 before you get to minus 4.

Points of Emphasis:

  • Player should go hard (intense).
  • Make a good move at the chair, keep knees bent, attack the chair as close as possible, use good footwork (ex: step through on cross over).
  • Stay low on the move, try to get your shoulder at or below the top of the chair.
