Full Court Dribble Moves With Finish
Fast paced and efficient full court dribbling and finishing drill.
Every player needs a ball. Form two lines in opposite of the gym (as shown in the diagram). Tell players which dribble move you want them to use at the cones. (If you have chairs use those since they are wider and better simulate a defender.)
The first player in line will dribble to the cone at half court and make a dribble move (ex: in/out, cross, etc).
Then they attack the next cone on the wing and make a dribble move. Then finish with a lay up (or any other finishing move you want to work on).
Once the first player in line reaches half court, the next player starts. Both lines are working at the same time.
After taking the shot, players get their rebound and go to the end of the line.
Switch Directions
Once players get enough reps going to their right, move the line to the other corner. Players will now dribble with their left and finish with their left.
You'll notice the first cone on your side is skipped. We setup 3 cones on each side so you can switch directions at any time and continue the drill. But only two cones are used on each side.
Dribbling Moves
Here are dribble moves you can choose or progress through:
- Retreat dribble (keep ball in same hand)
- Retreat dribble (cross to other hand and attack)
- Fan dribble (shuffle sideways... toward the corner keeping shoulders square to basket and then attack down hill for the finish)
- Crossover
- Behind Back
- In/out
- Through legs
- Stop and go
- Spin
- Double moves - cross, cross/legs, legs/cross, in/out cross, back/legs, etc
- Triple moves - cross/legs/back, legs/cross/back, etc.
