\nThis was a really good practice for our 5th grade team. \u00a0Worked hard and played really good\u00a0during the scrimmage… \u00a0HUGE improvement from our first practice!<\/p>\n

Emphasis for Players –\u00a0<\/strong>Communication, Leadership, and Hustle Plays (Effort)<\/strong>
\nCelebrate successes and effort. Chest bumps, high 5s, fist bumps. Communicate in all drills.<\/p>\n

Block 1 (6:30) – Shooting, Footwork & Finishing<\/strong>
\n1 hand form shooting<\/a> left hand – 1 min
\n1 hand form shooting<\/a> – 1 min
\nSet & go shooting<\/a> – 2 min
\nSpin outs – front pivot<\/a> – 2 min
\nSpin outs – step through – 2 min
\nSpin outs – drop step lay ups – 2 min
\nFast Break Pass & Replace<\/a> – 4 min (2 min to left and 2 min to right)<\/p>\n

Block 2 (6:45) – Dribbling<\/strong>
\nZig zag<\/a> – cross, retreat, behind back. – 4 min
\n1v1 moves at cone – in\/out move – 2 min
\n1v2 random traps <\/a>– 9 min<\/p>\n

Block 3 (7:00) – Team Defense<\/strong>
\n4v4 shell with interchange<\/a>:
\n– pass and drive only (8 min)
\n– pass, cut, and drive (7 min)<\/p>\n

Block 4 (7:15) – Offense Pieces<\/strong>
\nString spacing – 10 min
\n– Post bottom foot<\/a>
\n– Post top foot
\n<\/a>–\u00a0Guard to post (circle or flare)<\/a>
\n– Wing to top with back cut<\/a>
\nFill and read<\/a> – pop, cut, or screen away (read defense) – 5 min<\/p>\n

Block 5 (7:30) – Offense Whole<\/strong>
\nTransition offense<\/a> (5V0) – head man and cut, or initiate with dribble – 5 min
\n5v0 pass and cut – 4 min
\n5v0 pass, cut, and post ups (laker cut) – 4 min<\/p>\n

Block 6 (7:45) – Scrimmage 5v5<\/strong>
\nRule: Lose points for turnovers and not sprinting in transition.<\/p>\n
