{"id":327,"date":"2014-10-26T07:42:14","date_gmt":"2014-10-26T12:42:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.breakthroughbasketball.com\/haefner\/?p=327"},"modified":"2014-10-26T07:43:17","modified_gmt":"2014-10-26T12:43:17","slug":"new-high-five-twist-to-a-1on1-drill-that-i-really-like","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.breakthroughbasketball.com\/haefner\/new-high-five-twist-to-a-1on1-drill-that-i-really-like","title":{"rendered":"New &#8220;High Five&#8221; Twist to a 1on1 Drill That I Really Like"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I found a new twist for a 1 on 1 combo drill that I really like. \u00a0It&#8217;s called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breakthroughbasketball.com\/drills\/high-five-one-on-one.html\">High Five 1 on 1<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We used to run a similar drill except the lines were usually around the baseline. \u00a0I really like the &#8220;high five&#8221; twist because it provides several benefits.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s so simple. \u00a0The &#8220;high five&#8221; in the middle allows you to&#8230;<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breakthroughbasketball.com\/haefner\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/High-Five-one-on-one.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-330\" src=\"https:\/\/www.breakthroughbasketball.com\/haefner\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/High-Five-one-on-one.jpg\" alt=\"High-Five-one-on-one\" width=\"260\" height=\"188\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keep the middle open (no cones needed in the playing area).<\/li>\n<li>Allows you to line up players on the sideline so you can\u00a0keep them in the half court and get additional groups running (if needed).<\/li>\n<li>Makes it fun for players.<\/li>\n<li>Forces players to keep their eyes up when dribbling.<\/li>\n<li>And last but not least, it keeps the lines moving faster so we can get more reps! \u00a0 With our old drill it took several seconds to move players to the correct spots. \u00a0This new drill\u00a0is more efficient.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We&#8217;ll be using the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.breakthroughbasketball.com\/drills\/high-five-one-on-one.html\">High Five 1 on 1 drill<\/a>\u00a0quite a bit this year with both our youth and high school teams.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s\u00a0so simple. \u00a0I don&#8217;t know why I didn&#8217;t think of this\u00a0a long time ago?!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I found a new twist for a 1 on 1 combo drill that I really like. \u00a0It&#8217;s called High Five 1 on 1.
