Wondering at how coaches using this system like to play it against a 1-up press break. Do you have your 4 or 5 man, whichever is not on the ball, always take the one up? The basic rules outline 5 man will go to the left elbow and then take anyone there or lower on the left side, and then otherwise work back. The 2 guard will go to the right elbow and take anyone there or lower on the right side and then work back if nobody there. Point guard is generally speaking at half-court and looking for guys on the left side. So in situations where there's only one up on the press break but they're on the right side of the court, do you have your 2 man pick him up and 1 and 5 have to really communicate as 1 will then be taking someone on the right side around half-court and 5 will be dropping to guard someone on the left side? Or do you always have the big pick up anywhere when there's only 1 up?

Sorry for the very late reply. Our system stopped sending us notifications a while ago so we missed a bunch of questions. It's probably a little late but....

I use slightly different numbers for the positions and generally adjust them year to year.

But assuming you are using the same position numbers as Haske, I have found it is usually the 5 that defenders whoever is "1 up"... whether that offensive player is on left or right elbow. Reason being, most teams start 1 up player on the left side, so the 5 takes it early on. Then our team knows our opponent is playing a 1 up press break, so the 5 is just used to going up there and the 2 gets used to going back to match up. So it's just easier to have the 5 guard the left or right elbow spot since he's already up there.
