Hello. I am going to be teaching my third And 4th grade daughters the attack and counter system . The book is incredible and has so much info.

My question is: would you get them comfortable with all the the pivots before you teach them the counters?

The book does a great job with practice design , but I want to make sure I am teaching the pivots and counters the right way for this age group who is not extremely familiar with pivots.

I appreciate your time!

I don't think there is a right or wrong way regarding the order to teach. But here's the order I teach pivots to young players:

1) front pivot
2) reverse pivot (inside pivot)
3) step through
4) drop step
5) sweep

Maybe start with the first two. See how they do with those. Then decide when to add the others. The sweep is hardest pivot for players so we save that for last.
