Hello my name is Regin. I am a college student at Hofstra University (in NY) who is about to graduate. I am practicing to get into the sports writing field (specifically the NBA). I am a huge fan of the game of basketball. However, I want to be more than just a fan of the game. I want to be a student of the game of basketball. What steps would you suggest I take to become a student of the game? What books should I read? How do I watch tape of games like scouts and coaches do? Do you have any networking opportunities where I can come to one of your camps and learn under this program? I am very enthusiastic and passionate about this, so any advice and help would greatly be appreciated.

Thank you,

Regin

Become a coach, assistant coach, and/or volunteer. Coaching high school basketball is one of the fastest ways to learn. And read books, watch DVDs, etc.

Here's a good link too with lots of ideas:

Send us a message here and our director of camp operations will get in touch with you about helping with camps:

Okay, thanks a lot for the information. I emailed the camp operations to get involved.

Thanks again,

Regin A.
