You probably know me from the question regarding the backspin on the ball. Thanks again for the advice. Sadly, I have a few more things that I wish to clarify. I do not know if I' am protecting the ball correctly with my other hand. Should I place it in front of me or at the side? If you have any other advice that can help my confidence while dribbling, that would be great. I am confused with the hop step. I do not want to be called for traveling when I do the move and that is why I need to know how to do it properly. I see Derrick Rose do this all the time and I see it as a very efficient way to lose the defender easily. Lastly, what are the fundamentals of a floater? I idolize Derrick Rose for his sweet floater but how do I do something similar. Do you flick your wrist or lightly toss it up in the air? I just don't know. Please help. Trying out for my varsity team this year and I want to be a fundamentally sound player.

Dude, you can try to make the Varsity by just showing the basics and give them that you can go after loose ball, good defense, and box out!! Myself, I was the best defender on my Jv team last year. Now I'm on varsity. So just give them what you have, don't try to copy nba stars to become a better player. So please I've asked this questions a lot to my cousin, he said just practice and be yourself. I guess, my advice, be yourself.
