How can I get my boys, my team, to cut and move in the games. Can you guys please give me a few drills that can teach. My team is 9-10 year olds that can play. They can do layups, shot, pass.

Here are a few things you can try:

In our motion, we have only a couple rules. Two of them are:
- after you pass the ball, you have to cut or screen
- when you are 1-pass away from the ball and not wide open, you have to cut or screen (immediately)

You can run 5v0 drills like this as warm up:

You can use this drill to teach them to get open one pass away:
https://www.breakthroughbasketball.com/play.asp?id=437

You can scrimmage half court 4v4 or 5v5 and limit their dribbles (no dribble, 1 dribble, or 2 dribbles). That a good drill to teach movement, good padding, decision making, pivoting, and ball protection.

Beyond that, it's just something that takes time and continual emphasis. When scrimmaging, you can emphasize and enforce the movement of the two rules above. If they are not doing it, you can yell "freeze" to stop them. Then ask the players.... "what did you just do? you passed the ball. what are you supposed to do after you pass?"

Hope this helps.

We play 4 on 4. do have any drill for 4 on 4 moving and cutting. We were doing the drill with the 3 moving and cutting but then the other player did not know what to do. I did not know what do to with him. If we had a 4 on 4 moving and cutting drill for the boys to know where to move and cut, it would make things so much better? Can you help me please.

We usually play 4v4 and limit to no dribbles or 1 dribble. Then once getting players moving we allow unlimited dribbles.

Maybe I'm not following what you're after. Beyond the drills, I already sent you, I'm not sure what would help.

Are you just trying to understand spacing and how to run offense? Is that what you're trying to learn?
